Looking for a Square Hardware Promo Code?
Here’s the short answer: Square doesn’t run public promo codes the way some companies do. Hardware discounts pop up from time to time, but they change often and aren’t always available in the US. What we can tell you is that signing up through an official Square Solutions Partner — like POSUSA — is the best way to make sure you’re getting current pricing and the right setup for your business.
We’ve been working with Square merchants since 2011. If there’s a deal worth knowing about, we’ll have it here.

Square Hardware: Current Prices
No coupon code needed. These are the standard prices Square charges for their hardware lineup. The free magstripe reader is still available on your first order.
| Hardware | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Contactless + Chip Reader | $59 | Mobile sellers, pop-ups, service businesses |
| Square Stand | $149 | Retail counters using an existing iPad |
| Square Terminal | $299 | Standalone card terminal with built-in printer |
| Square Register | $899 | Full dual-screen POS for restaurants and retail |
Square also offers monthly financing on most hardware if you’d rather spread out the cost. The Terminal runs $27/mo for 12 months and the Register is $44/mo for 24 months.
Which Hardware Do You Actually Need?
This is where people overthink it. Here’s a quick way to cut through it:
If you’re just getting started and mostly sell on the go or at markets, the Contactless + Chip Reader at $59 is all you need. Pairs with your phone, takes cards and contactless payments.
If you have a counter and already own an iPad, the Square Stand turns it into a proper POS for $149. Good option for small retail shops and cafes.
If you want something that sits on the counter without needing a tablet, the Square Terminal is the move. It’s a self-contained device with a built-in card reader and receipt printer. Restaurants and service businesses use it a lot as a secondary terminal too.
If you’re running a full restaurant or busy retail shop and want a real POS setup, the Square Register 2 is Square’s new flagship. Dual screen so customers can see the transaction. It’s not cheap at $899, but it’s built for daily volume.
Common Questions
Is there a Square hardware discount code right now?
Square doesn’t consistently run public promo codes for hardware in the US. Discounts do appear occasionally, but they come and go. This page will be updated if a verified deal is available. The pricing listed above reflects current standard pricing.
Do I need a promo code to get Square’s best price?
No. Square hardware prices are set on their site and don’t require a code. The prices listed on this page are what you’ll pay. If a discount is running, it gets applied automatically at checkout.
What’s the benefit of signing up through POSUSA?
POSUSA is an official Square Solutions Partner. That means you’re signing up through a verified partner who can help you figure out the right hardware, plan, and setup before you spend anything. We’ve been in the POS industry since 2011 and work with Square merchants regularly.
Can I get Square hardware for free?
Square gives away a free magstripe reader on your first order. Beyond that, you’re paying for hardware. Some third-party POS providers offer free hardware deals tied to processing contracts, but Square doesn’t work that way.
Does Square charge monthly fees?
The base Square POS software is free. You pay per transaction (2.6% + 15¢ in person). Paid plans start at $49/mo if you need advanced features or lower processing rates.

Worked great for me
Awesome deal! I’ll be back for more discounts in the future.
I got the Square Reader for $59, cheapest I found anywhere. Only suggestion: maybe call out that there’s no code needed right at the top.
I needed a reliable POS setup fast, and this page saved me a lot of research. Great breakdown of the hardware and current deals, just what I was looking for, thanks!
The prices were better than I expected—especially on the Terminal. I like that there’s no code hassle, but I almost missed that the deal was automatic.
Love it! I thought I’d have to enter a code but the discount was already there. Grabbed the Square Register for my café and couldn’t be happier.
Super easy! I got the Square Stand for my boutique and didn’t need any promo code. The discount was already applied, and POSUSA made everything crystal clear.
Can’t beat free! I got the Square Reader with no upfront cost and started using the free POS app the same day. Perfect for my handyman business. Simple setup, no monthly fees, and great for sending invoices. Thanks POSUSA for pointing me in the right direction!
