Is your Clover POS not connecting to Wi-Fi? Whether you’re seeing network errors, Offline Mode stuck on, or your Clover Mini/Flex keeps dropping the signal, the fixes below work for Clover Mini, Flex, Station, Duo, Solo, and Clover Go.

Common Reasons Clover Won’t Connect to Wi-Fi

  • Weak or unstable Wi-Fi signal
  • Router too far from Clover device
  • Trying to connect to 5GHz-only networks (some models prefer 2.4GHz)
  • Incorrect Wi-Fi password
  • Network security settings blocking Clover
  • Interference from metal counters or kitchen equipment
  • Router using DFS channels (Clover sometimes can’t connect)
  • Guest network or VPN blocking Clover traffic
  • Software update glitch

How to Fix Clover Wi-Fi Not Connecting

1. Restart Clover (Fixes Most Wi-Fi Issues)

A basic restart clears network glitches and reconnects Clover’s wireless adapter.

  • Press and hold the power button
  • Select Restart
  • If frozen, hold power for 10–15 seconds

If Clover is frozen or won’t restart, use this guide: How to Reset a Clover Credit Card Machine.

2. Restart Your Router or Modem

This is the #1 fix when Clover connects but shows “No Internet.”

  • Unplug router for 10 seconds
  • Plug back in and wait 30–60 seconds
  • Reconnect Clover to your Wi-Fi

Many payment drops happen because the router temporarily loses internet—not because Clover is broken.

3. Forget the Network and Reconnect

If your Clover keeps trying to connect but fails, reset the Wi-Fi pairing.

  • Open Settings → Wi-Fi
  • Select your network
  • Tap Forget
  • Reconnect and enter your password

Incorrect or outdated passwords are one of the most common connection failures.

4. Move Clover Closer to the Router

Clover devices, especially Mini and Flex, can struggle with thick walls or interference from kitchen equipment.

  • Avoid metal surfaces
  • Avoid being under counters
  • Stay within 20–30 feet of router

If Wi-Fi drops during busy shifts only, you may need a dedicated router just for Clover.

5. Switch Between 2.4GHz and 5GHz

Some Clover models connect better to 2.4GHz networks—especially Clover Mini.

  • Find your router’s 2.4GHz network
  • Try connecting Clover to that network instead

Tip: 5GHz is faster but has shorter range and more interference issues in restaurants.

6. Disable VPN, Guest Network, or Firewall Restrictions

Clover cannot connect through:

  • VPN routers
  • Guest networks with isolation enabled
  • Firewalls blocking Clover ports

If you’re using a restaurant-managed network, ask IT to whitelist Clover traffic.

7. Check for Clover System Outages

If Clover is online but payments fail, a system outage could be the cause.

  • Wi-Fi works but Clover can’t process payments
  • Multiple locations experiencing issues
  • Offline Mode activates unexpectedly

Outages are rare but do happen during updates or high traffic events.

8. Update Clover Software

  • Go to Settings → About
  • Install pending updates
  • Restart the device

Missing updates can cause Wi-Fi adapter bugs and networking instability.

When to Contact Clover Support

  • Clover won’t detect any Wi-Fi networks
  • Only one device is dropping while others stay connected
  • Device reboots randomly during payments
  • Wi-Fi works but Clover says “No Internet”
  • Issue started right after a software update
