⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE (June 2024): Revel Systems was acquired by Shift4 for $245 million. The Revel website now redirects to Shift4’s platform. Shift4 has stated they plan to roll Revel’s best features into their SkyTab POS system. New customers should consider SkyTab directly instead of Revel.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Revel Systems is an iPad-based POS for restaurants and retail with strong multi-location management and offline capabilities. However, it requires a 3-year contract, aggressive early termination fees, and its future as a standalone product is uncertain following the Shift4 acquisition.
