Shopify POS products not showing? This usually appears as items missing from search, products marked “Unavailable,” wrong stock levels, or entire categories disappearing from the POS app. These issues almost always come from location assignment or sales channel visibility settings.
Here’s how to fix missing products in Shopify POS fast.
Table of Contents
Common Reasons Products Don’t Show in Shopify POS
- Product not added to the POS sales channel
- Product not assigned to the POS location
- Inventory set to 0 at the store location
- Product marked as “draft” or hidden
- Variants missing inventory assignment
- POS app data not refreshed
How to Fix Shopify POS Products Not Showing
1. Assign the Product to the POS Sales Channel
If a product isn’t published to the POS sales channel, it will never appear in the app — even if it has inventory.
- Open the product in Shopify Admin
- Go to Sales Channels
- Make sure POS is checked
- Save
This instantly fixes missing products for most merchants.
2. Assign Inventory to the Correct Location
This is the #1 cause of “Unavailable” or “0 stock” messages in Shopify POS.
- Go to Products → Inventory
- Select your product
- Scroll to Inventory by Location
- Enter the correct quantity for your POS store location
If the location isn’t checked, the product won’t show in POS.
3. Make Sure the Product Isn’t Set to “Draft”
Draft products don’t display in Shopify POS even when inventory is available.
- Edit the product
- Check the Status section
- Set to Active
This is a common oversight when new products are created in bulk.
4. Check Inventory Settings for Each Variant
Variants often cause visibility issues because each one has separate stock and location settings.
- Edit the product
- Scroll to Variants
- Select each variant individually
- Ensure inventory is assigned to the POS location
One wrong variant setting can hide the entire product in POS.
5. Reload POS Data
If products are configured correctly but still missing, reload the POS app’s data.
- Open Shopify POS
- Tap ≡ → Settings
- Select Reload Data
This refreshes product catalogs, prices, and inventory.
6. Restart the Shopify POS App
A simple restart often brings missing products back instantly.
- Swipe up from bottom of the iPad
- Force-close Shopify POS
- Reopen the app
This resolves temporary sync issues.
When to Contact Shopify Support
- Products disappear from POS even when correctly assigned
- Sales channels won’t save changes
- Inventory keeps resetting to 0
- Variants won’t sync to the POS app
