HungerRush POS Review: Pricing, Features, Pros & Cons

Updated: January 2026 • Verified Q1 2026

HungerRush POS Review

THE BOTTOM LINE: HungerRush (formerly Revention) is a cloud-based restaurant POS built for pizza shops, QSR, and delivery operations. Pricing starts at $199/month. The standout feature is OrderAI — an AI phone/text ordering system that’s processed 5+ million orders. Serves 18,000+ restaurants including Hungry Howies and Jet’s Pizza. Rating: 7.5/10 — excellent for pizza/delivery, but pricey vs competitors and mixed support reviews.

HungerRush is a Houston-based restaurant technology company serving the hospitality industry since 2003 (originally as Revention). The company serves 18,000+ restaurant locations including Hungry Howies (500+ locations), Jet’s Pizza, Dairy Queen, Popeye’s, and Sbarro.

The platform combines POS, online ordering, delivery management, loyalty, marketing automation, and OrderAI — an AI system that handles phone and text orders automatically. This focus on delivery and digital ordering makes HungerRush particularly strong for pizza shops and QSR where phone orders are significant.

Verdict

HungerRush is a powerful restaurant POS that excels in the pizza and delivery segment. OrderAI is genuinely innovative — handling unlimited phone orders with AI is transformative for high-volume operations. The direct integrations with DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub eliminate major operational headaches for delivery-focused restaurants.

However, at $199/month it’s significantly pricier than Toast ($69) or Square ($60). Mixed reviews around contract auto-renewals, inconsistent support, and billing issues are concerning. Your experience largely depends on getting a good customer success manager.

Recommendation: Strong choice for pizza/delivery operations that can leverage OrderAI. For other restaurant types or budget-conscious operators, compare against Toast or Speedline first.

HungerRush is the best pos I’ve used.

+ PROS: Ease of use. Amazing customer service. Amazing installation. The installer (Travis) was super intuitive and helpful. Honestly it’s worth the money.
    - CONS: Hardware is a bit outdated. But, It functions really well!

  2. Jeff

Stay away. Hungerrush was once a decent company that cared. This is very far from the truth now. Just find someone that still does business with them and ask them how many account representatives they have had. Your contract will auto renew without notice, then they will tell you that you need new hardware to use their new platforms or features. The techs that answer the phone to fix any issues more than likely will not be able to help and have to escalate the issue to one of the 3 techs that actually know about the software. So be prepared for a delay in getting your issue resolved.

    + PROS: None left
    - CONS: Unethically contract renewals. Only care about fleecing their customer any chance they get. MySQL errors, you will get to learn all about this wonderful term.
